Teri Lea Foos, 77 of Big Bear City passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula Montana of natural causes.

She was born on January 14, 1949, in Mason City, Iowa to Eva and Herb Bower. The family moved to San Diego where she and her sister, Sherry attended Madison High School. Teri was an independent free spirit. She owned a motorcycle and was the only girl in auto mechanic’s class. She married John Foos shortly after graduation and had a daughter, Camie. The marriage ended after two years. She was a strong independent woman and managed as a single mother working as a hairdresser, interior designer, loan processor, real estate agent and leather furniture sales and store owner.

Her second marriage was to Ron Ryan, whom she met while decorating units in the Coronado Shores Towers in San Diego. They enjoyed scuba diving and took trips to Hawaii, Tahiti and Grand Cayman Islands, as well as travelled in the Southwest. Unfortunately, this marriage also did not last.

Teri was a loving mother and loyal friend. Her homes were often shared with Old English Sheepdogs. She enjoyed country-western dancing, horseback riding, exploring, learning about history, bargain shopping, road trips, collecting southwest artwork, movies, and the mountains. She eventually moved to Big Bear, California where she worked in real estate and in log home sales, owned the Goldmine- a western-wear consignment store, and ultimately retired. She was particularly fond of her time teaching western line dancing at the Bit and Spur.

Survived by her daughter Camie, Missoula- Montana and her sister Sherry, Buffalo – Wyoming. A family celebration of life will take place in Big Bear later this year.
