Thomas John Jeffries, 76, passed away surrounded by his family on November 3rd, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Hospital of cancer.
He was born on April 3rd, 1947, in St. Ignatius Montana to Virginia McDougall and Thomas Jeffries. He grew up in Saltese Montana and completed high school in Wallace Idaho. Tom was in the army reserve for 4 years.
Thomas worked as a miner in Silver Valley for 17 years. He eventually moved to Hot Springs where he owned a construction company and a convenience store on Main Street known as “TJ’s”. After retiring Tom still liked staying busy, working for a mail route, boat fueling stations, and pilot car for constructions jobs.
Tom enjoyed golfing, watching football, and socializing. Tom’s favorite thing of all was being with his family. He would travel miles just to spend a little time with all his children.
A loving dad, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, he took great care of all his children, friends, and even people he barely knew. He had a way of lighting up any room and could put a smile on anyone’s face.
Survivors include his older sister Judy Pierce (Elmo), his twin brother Tim Jeffries (Elmo) and his younger sister Melba Jeffries (Missoula), his 4 sons’ Ricky Valerio (Mullan), Joey Valerio (Post Falls), Thomas Jeffries (Pinehurst), Suny Jeffries (Hot Springs), and his 3 daughters’ Nicole Winn (Hot Springs), Shae Jeffries (Hot Springs), Sophia Jeffries (Kalispell), along with 11 grandchildren.
