Tracy Lee Nelson
Tracy Lee Nelson was born on March 8, 1961, in Missoula, Montana, and passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on October 18, 2025, surrounded by family and friends who loved him. He grew up in Missoula and graduated from Rattlesnake Grade School and Hellgate High School. Tracy lived simply and remained true to himself
Tracy worked with the U.S. Forest Service and later as a skilled carpenter. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and willingness to help others. He was most at home outdoors in Montana’s mountains. In his younger years, he enjoyed his cars, motorcycles, hiking, river rafting, water and snow skiing, snowmobiling, and camping with friends and family.
He is survived by his parents, Bonnie and Roger Savage, and Jack and Mary Jean Nelson, his sister, Tina Leist, his nieces, Linnea and Anika, and many amazing friends. He was predeceased by his former wife, Angie, several close friends, and a whole pack of loyal dogs.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
