Zachary David Hoke was born to Terry and Marienne Hoke in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 19, 1979. He passed June 26, 2025.
He lived with his family in Trevor, Wisconsin until the family moved to Missoula, Montana in 1989. He attended Big Sky High School, Class of 1997.
His down time was often spent watching movies or listening to music. He had an amazing voice.
Zachary moved to Denver, Colorado in 2002 where he worked as a barista at a coffee stand. In 2006, Zachary moved to Los Angeles, California where he found his passion for carpentry. He then returned to Missoula, Montana in 2013. He worked as a contractor/handyman. He was a jack of all trades.
A new project was always at hand. Like a butterfly, he would flutter here and there, leaving a stamp of approval on everything he touched. Literally, he LOVED butterflies.
Zachary was always helping family, friends, and even strangers. Consistently offering a helping hand. He was always thinking of others. Giving was his second nature. He always had something to give to someone. If you told him that you liked something of his, he would say, "You can have it." He would give you the shirt off his back or his very last dollar. Zach made it look easy to be humble and kind. It came naturally to him.
He collected an assortment of things including tools, swords, jewelry, coins, and hats. His favorite hobbies were thrifting, gardening, studying coins, inspecting jewelry, and tinkering. Zachary was highly intelligent and was always learning something new. He loved to story tell and play little pranks. His fun and silly personality was infectious. He enjoyed anime, reading, and relaxing in a hot tub or sauna.
He had a sweet tooth and loved ice cream! He also had a passion for animals, especially dogs and kittens. They were drawn to him.
Zachary had a heart of gold and was adored by everyone.
He is survived by his parents, Terry and Marienne; siblings, Jason, Jarret (Debra), and Taren (Rob); his daughter Raya. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dearly loved extended family.
Zachary made his mark. He touched many people. He will be missed, but never forgotten. His spirit lives on.
"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me, shall never die." -John11:25-26
